Commercial selling
Commercial selling isn’t allowed on Vinted — as stated in our Catalogue Rules.
So we may have to hide or delete listings and suspend or block accounts if we see commercial activity.
This list isn’t exhaustive, but we may consider members to be doing commercial activities if they match one or more of the following criteria:
Representing or selling as a business
If you have a legal status as a business, then you’re not allowed to operate as this business on Vinted. Likewise, acting on behalf of another business is also not allowed.
Selling for commercial profit
If members are selling with the goal of making a regular income or profit from Vinted, we’ll view them as commercial sellers.
We evaluate this based on:
- The number of orders completed, and/or
- The amount of revenue earned
Selling similar items in multiple sizes / colours
Listing similar or identical items on Vinted in multiple different sizes, colours, or styles suggests that the member was planning to sell these items anyway, and not use them personally.
We view members as commercial sellers if they offer:
- A lot of items with tags and/or brand new items
- A lot of handcrafted items
- A lot of low-value items
- Identical or similar items from the same category and/or brand
- Identical or similar items in multiple different colours and/or sizes
Selling items as a designer / crafter
We appreciate our members’ creativity, however, making second-hand the first choice is one of our top priorities.
Selling items on Vinted that you (or an associate) have created professionally is viewed as a commercial activity.
Offering services
Vinted is for buying and selling physical items, so offering any kind of service isn’t allowed and is also viewed as a commercial activity.
Examples of services can include:
- Offering handcrafted, custom-made, personalised, or modified items to order
- Renting-out items to other members
- Offering items that “can be ordered” (i.e. taking orders for items that you don’t own)
Using standardised, professional photos
Unique items need unique photos. A listing’s photos should always show the item being sold and its real condition.
Using standardised, professionally-shot product photos — especially photos found online — suggests that a member is selling commercially.
Seeing the actual item helps other members make a decision about buying. That’s why we don’t allow generic stock photos or commercial product photos on listings.
